| Msconfig.exe Stops Responding if User Is Not an Administrator |
SYMPTOMS When you try to apply changes in the Msconfig.exe tool, Msconfig.exe may stop responding (hang). However, an administrator may be able to complete the same operation without any problems.
CAUSE This problem can occur if you do not have sufficient permissions to make the change in the Msconfig.exe tool. Msconfig.exe still tries to save the changes even if you do not have the appropriate permissions, and then retries this process after it receives an access denied error.
